ബംഗാളിലെ മൂര്‍ഷിദാബാദില്‍ സ്കൂള്‍ വാനിലേക്ക് ട്രെയിന്‍ ഇടിച്ചു കയറിയുണ്ടായ അപകടത്തില്‍ രണ്ട് കുട്ടികള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പടെ മൂന്നുപേര്‍ മരിച്ചു. നിരവധി കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് പരുക്കേറ്റതായും റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുണ്ട്. റെയില്‍വേ ഗേറ്റ് അടയ്ക്കാതിരുന്നതാണ ് അപകടത്തിനിടയാക്കിയതെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം. രാവിലെ ഏഴുമണിയോടെയാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്. കുട്ടികളുമായി പോയ വാനില്‍ കര്‍ണസുബര്‍ണ റെയില്‍വേ ക്രോസിങില്‍ വച്ച് നിമിത–കട്​വ പാസഞ്ചര്‍ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

അപകടത്തില്‍ പരുക്കേറ്റ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളെ മൂര്‍ഷിദാബാദ് മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളജിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. റെയില്‍വേ ഗേറ്റ് ആദ്യം അടയ്ക്കുകയും മറ്റൊരു ട്രെയിന്‍ പോയതിന് പിന്നാലെ തുറക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ അടുത്ത ട്രാക്കിലൂടെ പാസഞ്ചര്‍ വരികയായിരുന്നു. 

അപകടസ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് പൊലീസും റെയില്‍വേ അധികൃതരും എത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. സംഭവത്തില്‍ റെയില്‍വേ അന്വേഷണം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ഗേറ്റ്മാന് വീഴ്ച സംഭവിച്ചോയെന്ന് അന്വേഷിക്കുമെന്നും റെയില്‍വേ അറിയിച്ചു.

A tragic accident occurred in Murshidabad, West Bengal, when a train collided with a school van at an unmanned railway crossing, resulting in the deaths of three people, including two children. Numerous other students sustained injuries and have been shifted to the Murshidabad Medical College for treatment. Preliminary reports suggest the incident happened around 7:00 AM when the Nimtita-Katwa passenger train struck the van at the Karnasubarna crossing after the gate was opened prematurely following the passage of another train.
