ഒരാഴ്ചയായി കനത്ത മഴയും പ്രളയവും തുടരുന്ന അസമില്‍ മഴയ്ക്ക് ഇന്ന് നേരിയ ശമനമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും മഴക്കെടുതികള്‍ക്ക് മാറ്റമില്ല. മരണം 66 ആയി. 9  ജില്ലകളിലായി 7 ലക്ഷത്തിലേറെപ്പേര്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും ദുരിതത്തിലാണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ 24 മണിക്കൂറിനുള്ളിൽ 14 മരണങ്ങൾ കൂടി റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്തു. ശിവസാഗര്‍ ജില്ലയിലാണ് കൂടുതല്‍ നാശനഷ്ടം. ഇവിടെമാത്രം മൂന്നുലക്ഷം പേർ വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കത്തിന്റെ ആഘാതം നേരിടുന്നുണ്ട്.

ചരൈഡിയോ, ജോർഹട്ട് ജില്ലകളിലുള്‍പ്പെടെ 810 ഗ്രാമങ്ങൾ വെള്ളത്തിനടിയിലാണ്, 34,000 ഹെക്ടർ കൃഷി നശിച്ചു. വീടുകള്‍ വെള്ളത്തിനടിയിലായി, റോഡുകളും പാലങ്ങളും തകര്‍ന്നു. 6 ജില്ലകളിലായി 274 ദുരിതാശ്വാസ ക്യാമ്പുകള്‍ തുറന്ന് രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം തുടരുകയാണ്.

അതേസമയം, ഗുജറാത്തില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞദിവസങ്ങളിലുണ്ടായ കനത്ത മഴയിലും വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കത്തിലും മരിച്ചവരുടെ എണ്ണം 40 ആയി. രണ്ടു സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും വരും മണിക്കൂറുകളിലും മഴ തുടരുമെന്നാണ് മുന്നറയിപ്പ്. ജമ്മു കശ്മീരില്‍ ഇത്തവണത്തെ മഴക്കെടുതികളില്‍  26 പേര്‍ക്ക് ജീവന്‍ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു.
