സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് വയറിളക്ക രോഗ ബാധിതരുടെ എണ്ണം കൂടുന്നു. ഒരാഴ്ചയ്ക്കിടെ ചികില്സ തേടിയത് 16,000ലേറെ പേര്. രണ്ടു പേര് മരിച്ചു. ആറുമാസത്തിനിടെ രണ്ടര ലക്ഷം പേര്ക്ക് ചികില്സ വേണ്ടി വന്നു. ഈ വര്ഷം ഇതുവരെ രോഗബാധിച്ചവരുടെ എണ്ണം 2,51,488 ആണ്. ഇതില് 16226 പേര് ഒരാഴ്ചയ്ക്കിടെ രോഗം ബാധിച്ച് ചികില്സതേടിയവരാണ്. 2399 പേര്ക്ക് ശനിയാഴ്ച മാത്രം രോഗം ബാധിച്ച് ചികില്സ തേടിയത്.
ആറു ദിവസത്തിനിടെ 160 പേര്ക്ക് മഞ്ഞപ്പിത്തവും സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. ആറുമാസത്തിനിടെ 23 മരണവും സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. 85 പേര്ക്ക് ഷിഗെല്ല ബാധിച്ചു, ഇവരില് രണ്ട് പേര് മരിച്ചു. മലിനജലത്തിലൂടെയും ഈച്ചയാര്ക്കുന്നതും പഴകിയതുമായ ഭക്ഷണത്തിലൂടെയും ഉള്ളിലെത്തുന്ന വൈറസുകളും ബാക്ടീരിയകളുമാണ് രോഗകാരികൾ.
