പശ്ചിമേഷ്യയെ വീണ്ടും സംഘർഷഭരിതമാക്കി വെടിനിർത്തൽ ലംഘിച്ച് ഇസ്രയേലിനു നേരെ ഇറാന്റെ മിസൈലാക്രമണം. ബെയ്റൂട്ടിൽ ഇസ്രയേൽ നടത്തിയ അപ്രതീക്ഷിത ആക്രമണത്തിന് കനത്ത തിരിച്ചടി നൽകുമെന്ന മുന്നറിയിപ്പിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് ഇറാന്റെ നടപടി. മിസൈലുകൾ പ്രതിരോധിച്ചു തകർത്തതായി ഇസ്രയേൽ സൈന്യം അവകാശപ്പെട്ടു.

ഇസ്രയേലിൽ പലയിടങ്ങളിലും സൈറൻ മുഴങ്ങിയതായാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍. എന്നാല്‍ ആക്രമണത്തിന്‍റെ വ്യാപ്തിയോ നാശനഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ എത്രത്തോളമാണെന്നോ വ്യക്തമായിട്ടില്ല. ആക്രമണത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ ‘ഇന്ന് രാത്രി ടെഹ്റാൻ കത്തണം’ എന്നായിരുന്നു ഇസ്രയേലിലെ മന്ത്രി ഇറ്റ്മർ ബെൻ ഗിവിറിന്‍റെ പ്രതികരണം. ഗുരുതരമായ തെറ്റാണ് ഇറാൻ വരുത്തിയതെന്നും ശക്തമായി തിരിച്ചടിക്കുമെന്നും ഇസ്രയേല്‍ സൈനിക നേതൃത്വം വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

ആക്രമണത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ ഇറാന്‍റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ വ്യോമമേഖല അടച്ചു. പ്രത്യാക്രമണത്തിന് മുതിര്‍ന്നാല്‍ മേഖലയിലെ എല്ലാ അമേരിക്കൻ, സയണിസ്റ്റ് കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളെയും ലക്ഷ്യമിടുമെന്ന് ഇറാന്റെ റെവല്യൂഷണറി ഗാർഡ് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകി. ഇതിനിടെ, ഇറാന്റെ പിന്തുണയുള്ള ഹിസ്ബൊള്ളയും വടക്കൻ ഇസ്രയേലിനുനേരെ ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയതായി ഇസ്രയേൽ ആരോപിച്ചു.
