In Sharjah, the funeral of Vipanchika's deceased child was halted just before the cremation, following the intervention of the Indian consulate. The body was transferred back to the mortuary. Earlier, Vipanchika’s mother had requested that the child not be cremated in Sharjah, insisting that both Vipanchika and her child be laid to rest in their native place in India.
