വയനാട്ടിൽ അമ്മയെ കഴുത്ത് ഞെരിച്ച് കൊലപ്പെടുത്താൻ ശ്രമിച്ച മകൻ പിടിയിൽ. മാനന്തവാടി തോണിച്ചാൽ സ്വദേശിനി 80 വയസുകാരി സരോജിനിയെയാണ് മദ്യ ലഹരിയിൽ മകൻ കൊലപ്പെടുത്താൻ ശ്രമിച്ചത്.

സംഭവത്തില്‍ തോണിച്ചാൽ സ്വദേശി ദിനേശൻ മാനന്തവാടിയെ പൊലീസ് പിടികൂടി. "ഇത്രയും പ്രായമായിട്ടും എന്താ മരിക്കാത്തത്" എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അമ്മയെ തടഞ്ഞുനിർത്തി മർദിക്കുകയും കഴുത്തിൽ അമർത്തിപ്പിടിച്ച് കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു.

ശബ്ദം കേട്ട് ഓടിവന്ന നാട്ടുകാരാണ് സരോജിനിയെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. മകന്റെ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ മനംനൊന്ത സരോജിനി മണ്ണെണ്ണ കുടിച്ച് ആത്മഹത്യക്ക് ശ്രമിച്ചു. ഇവരെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. 

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

An 80-year-old woman, Sarojini, from Tonichal in Mananthavady, Wayanad, was allegedly attacked by her son, Dinesan, who attempted to strangle her while under the influence of alcohol. According to police, he assaulted his mother and questioned why she was still alive before trying to kill her. Local residents rushed to the scene after hearing her cries and rescued her. Distressed by the incident, Sarojini later allegedly attempted suicide by consuming kerosene and was admitted to a medical college hospital for treatment. Dinesan has been arrested by the Mananthavady Police in connection with the case.
