കണ്ണൂർ മട്ടന്നൂരിൽ എംഡിഎംഎയുമായി രണ്ട് യുവ ഡോക്ടർമാര്‍ എക്സൈസ് പിടിയില്‍. മലപ്പുറം പുതുപ്പൊന്നാനി സ്വദേശി ഡോ. ഇർഷാദ്, തലശ്ശേരി വടക്കുമ്പാട് കൂളി ബസാർ സ്വദേശി ഡോ. സിദ്ധാർഥ് സി.പി (31) എന്നിവരാണ് എക്സൈസിന്‍റെ മിന്നൽ പരിശോധനയിൽ പിടിയിലായത്. ഇവരിൽ നിന്ന് 2.8 ഗ്രാം എംഡിഎംഎ കണ്ടെടുത്തു. കൂടാതെ ലഹരി സൂക്ഷിക്കാനുപയോഗിച്ച വാഹനവും എക്സൈസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു.

മട്ടന്നൂരിലെ ഒരു  ഹോട്ടലിലാണ് ഇവര്‍ രണ്ടുദിവസമായി താമസിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ഇവരുടെ പക്കല്‍ ലഹരിമരുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് എക്സൈസിന് ലഭിച്ച രഹസ്യ വിവരത്തിന്‍റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് അറസ്റ്റ് . പിടിയിലായവരിലൊരാള്‍  ബെംഗളൂരുവിൽ പിജി മെഡിക്കൽ വിദ്യാർഥിയും, രണ്ടാമത്തെയാൾ കണ്ണൂരിലെ സ്വകാര്യ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജിലെ ഡോക്ടറുമാണ്.

ബെംഗളൂരുവിൽ നിന്നാണ് എംഡിഎംഎ എത്തിച്ചതെന്നും സ്വന്തം ആവശ്യത്തിനായാണ് ലഹരി എത്തിച്ചതെന്ന‌ും ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യലിൽ ഇവര്‍ എക്സൈസിനോട് സമ്മതിച്ചു. മട്ടന്നൂർ ചീഫ് ജുഡീഷ്യൽ മജിസ്ട്രേറ്റ് കോടതിയിൽ ഹാജരാക്കിയ പ്രതികളെ തുടർനടപടികൾക്കായി വടകര നാർക്കോട്ടിക് സ്പെഷൽ കോടതിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുമെന്ന് എക്സൈസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ അറിയിച്ചു.

Two young doctors were arrested by the Excise department in Mattannur, Kannur, after being caught with 2.8 grams of MDMA in a flash raid. The arrested individuals have been identified as Dr. Irshad from Malappuram and Dr. Siddharth C.P. from Thalassery. Acting on a confidential tip-off, Excise officials conducted the raid at a private hotel in Mattannur where the duo had been staying for two days. During interrogation, the suspects confessed that the synthetic drug was brought from Bengaluru for their personal consumption, and both the contraband and their vehicle were seized before transferring the case to the Vadakara Narcotics Special Court.
