നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരി വിമാനത്താവളം വഴി ഡൽഹിയിലേക്ക് ലഹരിമരുന്ന് കടത്താൻ ശ്രമിച്ച വിദേശ വനിത പിടിയിൽ. നാല് കോടി രൂപ വിലവരുന്ന ലഹരിമരുന്നാണ് പിടികൂടിയത്. ബാഗേജിനുള്ളിൽ പ്രത്യേകം തയ്യാറാക്കിയ അറയിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ച നിലയിലായിരുന്നു ലഹരി മരുന്ന്.

ഡൽഹിയിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്രയ്ക്കായാണ് ടോഗോലെസിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ലാറ്റിഫറ്റോ ഓറോ – അഗോറോ എന്ന 44കാരി നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരി വിമാനത്താവളത്തിൽ എത്തിയത്. ദോഹ വഴിയാണ് ഇവർ കൊച്ചിയിലെത്തിയത്. ആഭ്യന്തര ടെർമിനലിലെ സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഇൻലൈൻ സ്ക്രീനർമാർ നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിലാണ് ലഹരിമരുന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. ബാഗേജിനുള്ളിൽ പ്രത്യേകം തയ്യാറാക്കിയ അറയിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ച നിലയിലായിരുന്നു രണ്ട് പാക്കറ്റുകളിലായി നാല് കോടി രൂപ വിലവരുന്ന ലഹരി മരുന്ന്. 

ലഹരി മരുന്ന് ഡൽഹിയിലേക്ക് കടത്താനായിരുന്നു ശ്രമമെന്ന് അന്വേഷണ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. പിടിയിലായ വിദേശ വനിതയെ അങ്കമാലി കോടതിയിൽ ഹാജരാക്കിയ ശേഷം റിമാൻഡ് ചെയ്തു. വിഷയത്തിൽ വിശദമായ അന്വേഷണമാരംഭിച്ചു. നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരി വിമാനത്താവളം വഴി ലഹരിമരുന്ന് കടത്ത് ശ്രമങ്ങൾ തുടർച്ചയായി കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ സുരക്ഷാ പരിശോധനകൾ കൂടുതൽ ശക്തമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
