അഴീക്കലിന് സമീപം അറബിക്കടലില്‍ തീപിടിച്ച കപ്പലിലെ തീ അണയ്ക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. നിയന്ത്രണമില്ലാതെ ഒഴുകുന്ന കപ്പല്‍ കപ്പല്‍ ഏകദേശം 10 മുതല്‍ 15 ഡിഗ്രിവരെ ഇടത്തേയ്ക്ക് ചെരിഞ്ഞു .ഇന്ധന ടാങ്കിന് സമീപത്താണ് തീ പടരുന്നത്. ടാങ്കില്‍ 2,000 ടണ്‍ ഇന്ധനവും 240 ടണ്‍ ഡീസലുമുണ്ട്. കപ്പലിന്‍റെ മധ്യഭാഗം മുതല്‍ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ താമസിക്കുന്ന ബ്ലോക്കിന് മുന്നിലെ കണ്ടെയ്നര്‍ ഭാഗം വരെ തീയും പൊട്ടിത്തെറിയും തുടരുന്നു. മുന്‍ഭാഗത്തെ തീ അല്‍പം നിയന്ത്രണ വിധേയമായി. കനത്ത പുകയുണ്ട്.  കാണാതായ നാലു കപ്പല്‍ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ക്കായി തിരച്ചില്‍ തുടരുകയാണ്. കൊടുംവിഷ പദാര്‍ഥങ്ങളുള്ള കണ്ടെയ്നറുകള്‍ പൊട്ടിത്തെറക്കുന്നു. കൂടുതല്‍ കണ്ടെയ്നറുകള്‍ കടലില്‍ വീണു. സ്ഥിതിഗതികള്‍ വിലയിരുത്താന്‍  ഡി.ജി ഷിപ്പിങ്ങിന്‍റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ഉന്നതതല യോഗം ചേര്‍ന്നു. 

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

Efforts to extinguish the fire on the ship ablaze in the Arabian Sea near Azhikkal have been unsuccessful. The uncontrolled vessel is now tilting approximately 10 to 15 degrees to the left, with the fire spreading near the fuel tank which contains 2,000 tonnes of fuel and 240 tonnes of diesel. Explosions and fire continue from the midship to the container section in front of the crew accommodation block, though the fire in the front section is somewhat under control. Heavy smoke is emanating from the vessel. The search continues for four missing crew members. Highly toxic containers are exploding, and more containers have fallen into the sea, exacerbating the environmental threat. A high-level meeting led by the DG Shipping was convened to assess the dire situation
