കണ്ണൂര്‍ മട്ടന്നൂര്‍ ശിവപുരത്ത് ജനവാസ മേഖലയിലിറങ്ങിയ കാട്ടുപോത്തിനെ കണ്ടെത്താനായില്ല. രണ്ടുദിവസമായി തിരയുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും കണ്ടെത്താനാകാത്തതിനാല്‍ കാടുകയറിയോ എന്നറിയാതെ അങ്കലാപ്പിലാണ് നാട്ടുകാരും വനംവകുപ്പും.  നാട്ടുകാര്‍ ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് പ്രദേശത്ത് നിര്‍ദേശം നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

തിങ്കളാഴ്ച വൈകിട്ടാണ് കാട്ടുപോത്തിനെ കണ്ടത്. വീടുകള്‍ക്കും കടകള്‍ക്കുമടുത്തുകൂടി നടന്ന കാട്ടുപോത്ത് ശാന്തനായിരുന്നു. പോത്തിറങ്ങിയതോടെ നാട്ടുകാര്‍ പരിഭ്രാന്തരായി. വനംവകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ രംഗത്തിറങ്ങി. ഏറെ നേരം പോത്തിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും കണ്ടെത്താനായില്ല. ശിവപുരം ടൗണില്‍ നിന്ന് രണ്ടുകിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ആകലെ കണ്ടതായാണ് വിവരം. പക്ഷേ, പിന്നീടൊരു വിവരവുമില്ല. പരിഭ്രാന്തരാകേണ്ടെന്ന് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍. പന്നിയും കുരങ്ങന്മാരും ശിവപുരത്ത് പതിവുകാരാണ്. പക്ഷേ കാട്ടുപോത്തെത്തിയത് ഇതാദ്യം. മുമ്പ് പുലിയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യവും ശിവപുരത്തെ മാലൂരിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

ENGLISH SUMMARY:

A wild gaur (Indian bison) was sighted in the residential area of Shivapuram in Mattannur, Kannur, causing alarm among locals. Despite a search operation launched by the Forest Department, the animal has not been found for two days, leaving both residents and officials concerned about its whereabouts. The gaur was seen wandering near houses and shops on Monday evening. Although the animal appeared calm, its presence has created panic in the area. While wild pigs and monkeys are common in Shivapuram, this is the first time a gaur has been sighted. Authorities have advised locals to remain vigilant but not to panic, as they continue their search. The presence of a leopard had also been reported in the nearby area of Maloor previously.
