ഒരാഴ്ച മുമ്പാണ് പൈനാവ് സ്വദേശികളായ സുമിത്ത് അച്ചു ദമ്പതികളുടെ മകൻ ഇഹാനെ കടുത്ത പനിയെ തുടർന്ന് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചത്. പ്രാഥമിക പരിശോധനയിൽ ഡെങ്കിപ്പനി ബാധിച്ചതായി കണ്ടെത്തി. ഇത് സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കാൻ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളജിലെ ലാബിൽ ഈ മാസം ഒമ്പതിന് രക്തം നൽകി. കഴിഞ്ഞദിവസം ആശുപത്രിയിലെത്തി പരിശോധനാഫലം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടെങ്കിലും എലീസ കിറ്റുകൾ തീർന്നെന്നും ഫലം നൽകാൻ കഴിയില്ലെന്നും ജീവനക്കാർ അറിയിച്ചു.

Serious negligence has been reported at Idukki Medical College after a one-year-old child's dengue test results were delayed for over a week. The child, Ehan, was admitted with a high fever on the 9th of this month, and blood samples were taken to confirm dengue. When the parents inquired about the results, hospital staff claimed that the testing (Elisa) kits were out of stock. Following a formal complaint by the child's father, the District Collector has demanded an immediate explanation from the Medical College Superintendent.
