കുരങ്ങ് ശല്യത്തിൽ പൊറുതിമുട്ടി കിടപ്പാടം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കേണ്ട ഗതികേടിലാണ് തൃശൂർ കടങ്ങോട് മണ്ടംപറമ്പ് ഉന്നതിയിലെ കൃഷ്ണൻകുട്ടി. ലൈഫ് പദ്ധതിയിൽ വീടിന് അർഹതയുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അനുമതി ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ല. നരവാനരയുദ്ധത്തിൽ തോറ്റു പോയ നിസ്സഹായനായ ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ സങ്കട കഥയിലേക്ക്!

ഇന്ന് കൃഷ്ണൻകുട്ടിയുടെ വീടൊരു യുദ്ധക്കളമാണ്. കുരങ്ങുകൾ കൂട്ടമായെത്തി ഒരു വീടിന്റെ മേൽക്കൂര തകർത്തു ഓടുകൾ വലിച്ചെറിയുന്നു. വീട്ടുടമ ഓടുകൾ മേയ്യുന്നു. ഇത് ഇന്നും ഇന്നലെയും തുടങ്ങിയതല്ല. നാല്  വർഷമായി. ചുറ്റും കോൺക്രീറ്റ് വീടുകളാണ്. അവർക്കു ശല്യമില്ല. തുറന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന മേൽക്കൂരയിലൂടെ മഴവെള്ളം അകത്തേക്ക് വീണ് ചുമരുകൾ നനഞ്ഞു കുതിർന്നു. ഏതുനിമിഷവും നിലംപൊത്തും. ഓടുപോയ സ്ഥലത്ത് ടാർപോളിൻ കെട്ടാൻ 10000 രൂപ കഴിഞ്ഞവർഷം ചെലവായി.

ഓടുകളിളകി ദേഹത്തേക്ക് വീണ് പരുക്കേറ്റു. കുരങ്ങന്മാരുടെ ശല്യം കാരണം ഭാര്യ സ്വന്തം വീട്ടിലേക്ക് പോയി. എങ്കിലും സ്വന്തം കിടപ്പാടം കുരങ്ങന്മാർക്ക് വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കില്ലെന്ന വാശിയിലാണ് ഈ വയോധികൻ.

Krishnankutty from Mandamparambu Unnathi in Kadangode, Thrissur, faces severe displacement as aggressive monkey troupes continuously destroy his home's roof by tearing off tiles. Despite being eligible for housing under the LIFE Mission scheme, he has not received official approval to rebuild his vulnerable residence. For four years, groups of monkeys have attacked his property, allowing rainwater to leak inside and severely weaken the walls of his house. Having suffered injuries from falling tiles and spending ten thousand rupees last year on tarpaulins, his wife has temporarily moved away. Stubbornly refusing to surrender his dwelling to the animals, the elderly man continues to live bravely amid the ongoing struggle.
