CPM Calls Hartal in Idukki Over Land Issues; Key Exemptions Announced:
The CPI(M) has called a hartal in Idukki district, Kerala, demanding a permanent solution to land-related issues. The party alleges a move to convert the Cardamom Hill Reserve (CHR) area into forest land and opposes plans to create elephant corridors. The CPI(M) has also raised concerns over a lack of clarity in the cadastral map issued by the state government in connection with the Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ).
