കാലിക്കറ്റ് സര്‍വകലാശാല വൈസ് ചാന്‍സലര്‍ പി.രവീന്ദ്രനെതിരെ സിന്‍ഡിക്കറ്റ് അംഗങ്ങള്‍. സിന്‍ഡിക്കേറ്റ് യോഗം പോലും വിളിക്കാന്‍ വിസി തയ്യാറാവുന്നില്ല. തസ്തികകള്‍ നികത്താതെ താല്‍പര്യക്കാരെ തിരുകി കയറ്റുകയാണ് വി.സിയെന്ന് ഇടത് സിന്‍ഡിക്കേറ്റ് അംഗങ്ങള്‍ ആരോപിച്ചു.

സര്‍വകലാശാല സാറ്റ്യൂട്ട് പ്രകാരം രണ്ട് മാസത്തിലൊരിക്കലെങ്കിലും സിന്‍ഡിക്കേറ്റ് യോഗം ചേരണമെന്നാണ് നിര്‍ദേശം. എന്നാല്‍ ഈ സ്റ്റാറ്റ്യൂട്ടറി വ്യവസ്ഥയെ കാറ്റില്‍ പറത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് രണ്ടു മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞാണ് വൈസ് ചാന്‍സലര്‍ പി.രവീന്ദ്രന്‍ സിന്‍ഡിക്കേറ്റ് യോഗം വിളിക്കുന്നത്.  സെനറ്റില്‍ പോലും ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയാതെയാണ് മൂന്നുപ്രമുഖര്‍ക്ക് ഡിലിറ്റ് നല്‍കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചത്.

​വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന താല്‍കാലിക ജീവനക്കാരെ പിരിച്ചുവിട്ട് സ്വന്തക്കാരെ തിരുകികയറ്റാനാണ് നീക്കം. ഡിലിറ്റ് ദാനചടങ്ങില്‍ വന്ദേമാതരം പൂര്‍ണമായി പാടിക്കാനാണ് വി.സി ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് ഇടത് അംഗങ്ങള്‍ ചൂണ്ടികാണിച്ചു

രാഷ്ട്രീയതാത്പര്യങ്ങളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ കോളജ് യൂണിയന്‍ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് അട്ടിമറിക്കുന്ന വിസിയുടെ നിലപാട് ജനാധിപത്യവിരുദ്ധമാണ്. ഇതിനെതിരെ ശക്തമായ പ്രതിഷേധം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കാനാണ് ഇടത് സിന്‍ഡിക്കേറ്റ് അംഗങ്ങളുടെ തീരുമാനം.

They also accused the VC of deciding to confer D.Litt. degrees on three prominent individuals without discussing the matter in the Senate, alongside pushing to sing Vande Mataram completely at the degree ceremony. Furthermore, the syndicate members condemned the VC's alleged anti-democratic stance in disrupting college union elections for political interests and declared a strong protest against his administration.
