ആലപ്പുഴ കൈനടിയില് എല്ഡിഎഫ് സ്ഥാനാര്ഥിയും ഡിവൈഎഫ്ഐ ജില്ലാ ജോയിന്റ് സെക്രട്ടറിയുമായ കെ.ആര്.രാംജിത്തിന് നേരെ വധശ്രമം. ആര്എസ്എസ്–ബിജെപി പ്രവര്ത്തകരാണ് ആക്രമിച്ചത്. ഗുരുതര പരുക്കേറ്റ രാംജിത്തിനെ കോട്ടയം മെഡിക്കല് കോളജ് ആശുപത്രിയില് പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. രാംജിത്തിന്റെ തലയില് 20 തുന്നലുണ്ട്. ജില്ലാ പഞ്ചായത്ത് വെളിയനാട് ഡിവിഷനിലെ സ്ഥാനാര്ഥിയായിരുന്നു രാംജിത്ത്. ഇവിടെ ഇക്കുറി യുഡിഎഫാണ് ജയിച്ചത്. ബിജെപി പ്രവര്ത്തകര് വീടിന് സമീപം പടക്കം പൊട്ടിച്ചത് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തതിനാണ് ആക്രമണം കൈനടി ഉള്പ്പെടുന്ന നീലംപേരൂര് പഞ്ചായത്തില് എല്ഡിഎഫില് നിന്ന് ബിജെപി ഭരണം പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു.

An attempt to murder LDF candidate and DYFI District Joint Secretary K.R. Ramji was reported in Kainady, Alappuzha. The attack, allegedly carried out by RSS–BJP workers, left Ramji with serious injuries, including 20 stitches on his head, and he has been admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Ramji, who contested from the Veliyanad Division of the District Panchayat (where UDF won), was attacked after he questioned the BJP workers for setting off firecrackers near his house. The attack occurred in the backdrop of the BJP wresting power from the LDF in the Neelamperoor Panchayat, which includes Kainady.
