101 വയസ് പിന്നിട്ട വി എസ് അച്ചുതാനന്ദന് ഇന്നലെ രാവിലെയാണ് ഹൃദയാഘാതമുണ്ടായത്. തിരുവനന്തപുരം എസ് യു ടി ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം ഐ സി യുവിൽ വെൻ്റിലെറ്ററിലാണ്. ചികിത്സയിൽ 24 മണിക്കൂർ പിന്നിട്ടുമ്പോൾ നേരിയ പുരോഗതിയെന്നാണ് ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ വിലയിരുത്തൽ. മരുന്നുകളോട് പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നതും ആശുപത്രിയിലെത്തിച്ച ശേഷം നില മോശമാകാതെ തുടരുന്നതുമാണ് ആശ്വാസമാകുന്നത്.കാർഡിയോളജിസ്റ്റ് , ന്യൂറോളജിസ്റ്റ് ' , നെഫ്രോളജിസ്റ്റ് , ഇൻ്റൻസിവിസ്റ്റ് തുടങ്ങിയ വിദഗ്ധരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മെഡിക്കൽ സംഘമാണ് നിരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്. അതിനിടെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയൻ ആശുപത്രിയിലത്തി.
