2022ല്‍ പാലക്കാട് ദേശീയപാത ഉപരോധിച്ച കേസില്‍ ഷാഫി പറമ്പിലിന് തടവും പിഴയും. 1000 രൂപ പിഴയും കോടതി പിരിയുംവരെ തടവും വിധിച്ചു. പാലക്കാട് ജുഡീഷ്യൽ ഫസ്‌റ്റ് ക്ലാസ് മജിസ്ട്രേറ്റ് കോടതിയാണ് ശിക്ഷ വിധിച്ചത്. പാലക്കാട്‌ ദേശീയപാത ഉപരോധിച്ചതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് 2022 ജൂൺ 24 ന് കസബ പൊലീസ് രജിസ്‌റ്റർ ചെയ്ത കേസിലാണ് നടപടി. നിരന്തരം കോടതിയിൽ എത്താത്തതിനെ തുടർന്ന് കഴിഞ്ഞ ആഴ്ച ഷാഫിക്കെതിരെ അറസ്റ്റ് വാറന്റ് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചിരുന്നു. 5 മണി വരെ കോടതിയിൽ നിൽക്കണമെന്ന് കോടതി നിർദേശം.

2022 ജൂൺ 24 ന് പാലക്കാട് കസബ പൊലീസ് രജിസ്‌റ്റർ ചെയ്ത കേസിൽ പാലക്കാട് ജുഡീഷ്യൽ ഫസ്‌റ്റ് ക്ലാസ് മജിസ്ട്രേറ്റ് കോടതിയില്‍ ഷാഫി ഇന്ന് ഹാജരായി. വയനാട്ടിൽ രാഹുൽഗാന്ധിയുടെ എം.പി. ഓഫിസ് എസ്.എഫ്.ഐ പ്രവർത്തകർ തല്ലിതകർത്തതിൽ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചായിരുന്നു ഷാഫി പറമ്പിലിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ നാൽപ്പതോളം വരുന്ന യൂത്ത് കോൺഗ്രസ് പ്രവർത്തകർ ചന്ദ്രനഗറിൽ ചെമ്പലോട് പാലത്തിന് സമീപം ദേശീയപാത ഉപരോധിച്ചത്.

അന്ന് യൂത്ത് കോൺഗ്രസിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്ന പി.സരിൻ കേസിൽ ഒമ്പതാം പ്രതിയായിരുന്നു. നേരത്തെ കോടതിയിൽ ഹാജരായ പി.സരിനെ 500 രൂപ പിഴയും കോടതി പിരിയും വരെ തടവിനും ശിക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു.

Congress leader Shafi Parambil has been sentenced to imprisonment till the rising of the court and fined ₹1,000 in a 2022 national highway blockade case in Palakkad. The verdict was delivered by the Palakkad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in a case registered by Kasaba Police. The blockade was staged in protest against the vandalism of Rahul Gandhi’s MP office in Wayanad by SFI activists. An arrest warrant had been issued earlier after Shafi Parambil failed to appear before the court multiple times. Around forty Youth Congress workers had participated in the protest near Chandranagar in Palakkad. The case has once again brought political protest actions and legal accountability into focus.
